A Bit About Me
Truly listening to God has been a deeply transformative part of my life for 15 years and I wished I'd practiced this and other disciplines sooner! I grew up in a christian home, studied and graduated from a Christian University and then worked using my gifts. First I used my gift of teaching in the public schools for 6 years, then expanded that with my gifts in music as a Worship Arts Pastor for 10+ years and now on the mission field in the UK as a missional church planter, spiritual director and teammate for our agency's Spiritual Formation team.
My calling as a spiritual director is grounded in scripture with an open heart to looking for God's presence in everyday life. I will complete my formal training as a Spiritual Director through Selah in the Eurpoean cohort in 2021. I'm married to my lovely wife Sarah and we are blessed by two wonderful girls. Besides my christian vocational work I have more than a little passion for gardening, creating, interior asthetics and cooking and how all of these things are powerful ways to help people feel relaxed, welcome, at peace and encouraged. My calling in life is "To See Things Grow" and I enjoy using God's other gifts of hospitality and creativity to bring that to reality.

What is Spiritual Direction?
Our deep deisre is for God: “my soul finds rest in God alone.” (Ps. 62:1) Spiritual Direction is a relationship between two people whose focus is the one person’s life with God, cultivating that deep desire and seeking that rest.
Spiritual direction is not so much about being “directed” as it is listening to the Holy Spirit, the true Director who is constantly working, speaking to us in every moment of the day, accompanying our ordinary daily living, our work, our relationships, and reminding us of our longing for our true home, God. He is drawing us into a deeper sense of our belovedness, of our free and truest selves as His daughter or son.
Spiritual Direction can be helpful in many times of life including times of growth, times of dryness, times needing clarity and times of refreshment.
What is it like for the Directee
It is a time of noticing. The directee brings to this time an awareness of what has been happening in life during the past month – the events, struggles, desires, and recurring themes that seem to be playing out. As you’ve tried to pay attention to God in the midst of these, including your experiences of encounter with him in your reading of the Scriptures and your prayer life, what have you been noticing?
Often a desire for spiritual companionship is prompted by one’s having no awareness of God saying or doing anything. Your practice of the classic spiritual disciplines may feel completely dry and lifeless; bring that as well!
Spiritual direction is “space to explore the everyday ordinariness for the presence of God and the workings of grace,” precisely at those times when “nothing seems to be happening.”

What is it like for the Director?
A spiritual director's task is to listen, both to you and to God’s Spirit, as you share. His or her role is not to be the one who interprets God for you, but to be one who helps you grow in noticing the presence, work, and invitations of the Holy Spirit.
Contemplative Spiritual Direction involves periods of silence during a session to foster attentiveness, stillness, and listening.
The spiritual director will pray for you in between sessions, on a regular basis. You may of course contact him or her at any time should any particular concern arise.

Costs
and Scheduling
As mentioned, sessions are an hour long. They can be in person or via video call (skype, FaceTime, etc.) My current charge is £45 or $50 per session. Sessions can be every other week or monthly.
